When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been too long
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows
lies the seed
that with the sun’s love
in the spring
becomes the rose.
From the song, The Rose, written by Amanda McBroom
I was humming the song today as I drove home. I had been given this lovely rose.
Love the song Penny. I can feel you still waiting, but the fragrance is not far away now.

Me, too Juliet. Our Jennifer accompanied on piano another student in school for a performance of the song, and I think of her each time I hear it. Yes, I’m waiting . . .

In my eagerness to bring forth spring, I forgot that tomorrow is its first day. Thanks for the reminder, Janet. I need to take a walk and hear the peepers up close. yea!

A beautiful rose and another great photo! It sure feels like Spring today, Eoin is out with a baseball mitt on his hand and without a jacket throwing a baseball around with the kids next door and I’m about to go for a walk at the Arboretum – jacket ON though!

Thank you, Janet. Wasn’t it a glorious day? I’ll bet Eoin has had a great day being outside and will sleep well tonight. I will too. We took a long walk in the woods here, but, like your Arboretum walk, needed a jacket. The spring peepers were out in full chorus. Were they croaking at the Arboretum today?
