Beautiful! Happy Anniversary to the two best parents a kid could ask for! How long did it take for the flower to open?

Thank you, Jennifer. So sweet of you to day that. Hmmm. I may have a few flowers for a couple celebrating their anniversary tomorrow to post.
These pictures were taken over a week’s time from top to bottom. More have opened today on this bush and are nearing the size of a small dinner plate.

They are wonderful, aren’t they? These are the tree peonies. The more common bush type are just starting to have buds here and will open soon.’
Thank you. It is pure bliss.

Happy belated anniversary to a very lucky couple from what I’ve read from so many loving posts in your blog! The peonies are beautiful in the photos in this very creative post! I love peonies because, not only are they gorgeous, but they remind me of my mother who was not much of a gardener, but had 3 treasured peony bushes – one pink, one white and one burgundy.

Thank you, Janet. You are kind. These are the tree peonies and so incredibly big. I love them. They fade and drop, and then the bush ones come out to play and I’m happy all over again. Your mom’s peonies must have been beautiful. What is great about them is that, once established, they are around forever.
