I haven’t been doing nothing Piglet.. I’ve been catching up on Penny’s wonderful posts..and having a giggle at turkey tales and all.. but really and truly doing nothing is what I Do Best and living alone I Never Feel The Slightest Bit Guilty because I delightfully think to myself..Nobody Knows!

Joan’s comment epitomizes the approach to life I’m trying to embrace now that I’m retired. I’ve always lived alone and yet I’ve always felt that some of my definition came from producing something each day–working, writing, exercising, reading, cooking, baking–anything to show that I’d been up and at it that day, being productive.
Now I wile away the hours simply being. So relaxing. As Friko said, Piglet is preaching to the converted!
Peace.

Oh, to “wile away the hours simply being”. Isn’t that grand, Dee? I think one can be very production while wiling. So does Piglet.

Reading Piglet’s philosophy and reading everyone’s acceptance of no-guilt and the ability to allow oneself to just be and enjoy one’s day and life is so uplifting! I am inspired to immediately and permanently shrug off the “should-do, should have done more, get something accomplished sense of daily failure” that I have allowed to mar my restful and peaceful days following unemployment. What a freeing thought! I’ve suddenly realized the impact of my prior work environment where no amount of output was quite enough. Thank you Piglet!!!!!!! and thank you Penny, for reminding us of the wisdom of those magical words. K

Piglet, and I, are so pleased that we have all given you the freedom to be free, Kathryn. Yea! I always find the most sound proclamations handed down by our friends at Pooh Corner, don’t you?
You’re very welcome, Kathryn, and enjoy “not bothering”.

I love Piglet and agree with him completely. Turn the television off, leave the computer, sit near a window or outside if possible and enjoy without bothering.
When my husband mentions something fun to do and my answer starts with “well, I really should…….” , he will interrupt me and say “If you don’t should on me, I won’t should on you.” Sometimes you just have to “go fishing.”

I love it, Janet. A wise man your husband is. A new motto: don’t should on me. I, for one, put a great deal of value on “doing nothing”. Tom and I keep thinking we should go fishing, though.

All is well, Marilyn, thank you. Kezzie and her parents are coming down for our Thanksgiving on Thursday and I’m busy as a Bee in a Hive making things ready and then I will enjoy Doing Nothing with Her. (I hope she brings Piglet with her.)
