My New Year’s resolutions are simple. I resolve to be more patient, less selfish, cherish my friends, and in my small way help whoever needs help. I cannot conceivably influence the world’s destiny, but I can make my own life more worthwhile. I can give some help to some people; that is not vital to all the world’s problems and yet I think if everyone did just that, we might see quite a world in our time!

Your resolutions may on the surface sound simple, but I don’t think they are at all. It would almost be easier, I think, to “vow” a new diet or the breaking of a habit. But I am really in harmony with your thoughts, and believe that in a world that so often presents us dark and dismal messages, we can take a different and more loving/giving approach to those around us. I think it may actually BE vital 🙂 Debra

You express this sentiment so well, Debra. As I’m reading it, on a gloomy day, the sun decided to come out. Are you sending it this way from California? I’m sure you are. Thank you. Kindness and goodwill are always the best approach, I agree. You are the best!

Resolutions tend to be broken quickly, but good intentions like these are harder and easier to keep at the same time. Being a good person about encapsulates it, I would say.
Happy New Year, Penny.

So true, Friko. So true. I do think the world would be a better place with more of it.
Thank you. To health and happiness – and peace.

Glad to hear that. Do you keep a book of quotations and such, Perpetua? I ask because I do, myself, keeping it close at hand and often jotting words down in it.

Not a book but a pile of notes, Penny. Very messy and a book sounds a much better idea.

Sometimes I just glue or tape the notes into the book.

Janet, you are a wonderful supporter and friend. Thanks. She’s one of my favorites – was a display angel at Von Maur year’s ago that I just happend upon for a song after Christmas. Sigh.
