This song was a mantra of sorts all last year and is still a wonderful reminder to do just that. Thank you, angel Penny.

Oh, thank you, Teresa. It is such a simple and beautiful song, isn’t it? A mantra. I like that.

I used to sing that song at Sunday School, Penny. Thanks for the memory and the lovely pictures. 🙂

You are welcome, dear Perpetua. It does take us back to younger days, doesn’t it? I hope children still sing it.

That is so encouraging to hear.
We were at the wedding of a close friend’s daughter a few years ago. Laura, the bride, was our daughter’s close friend as well. As the minister performed the ceremony in the beautiful Hammerschmidt Chapel at Elmhurst College, one of the candles flickered then went out. Not missing a beat, the good man rolled right into “This Little Light of Mine”, singing it in his rich baritone, and deftly fitingt it into his blessing. I’ll never forget it.

This song reminds me of the little white United Methodist church I attended as a child! I love the rabbit and the candle, it looks like you have begun to put up Christmas decorations. Much nicer, I must say, than the huge glowing blow up “Christmas” snowman I’ve been looking at in my neighbors front garden since before I sat down to my Thanksgiving dinner!

It does conjure up such memories, doesn’t it? I started humming it when I first saw the November sun streaming onto this bunny. Actually, this is up in a corner all year, Janet. I just like it there. The bunny is one of four cement bunnies that hold up our glass coffee table. We reduced it to a smaller round one last year when we had several toddlers around, and just left it. He, and his brothers, get bows for Christmas (when I remember, sigh). Oh dear. A blowup snowman that glows?
I made another pumpkin pie to take to Jennifer and Jason’s last night. Used the Pillsbury crust, which was much easier and lighter. I do love this pie with the chipotle, much to my surprise.

Oh, I thought the wreath around the candle was a Christmas decoration. I love that pie too Penny and since I have a second crust in the refrigerator, I think I may make another now that you mentioned it!

I could hear the song singing in my head as I read this post. May your light shine long and clear, Penny.

Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine! For all of us, Juliet. As the sun was streaming in, resting, briefly, on the bunny, this old song came into my head and hasn’t left since. I think I need to teach it to a certain little miss.

From one light to the next, Debra. I’m looking forward to the Advent season. Today, however, I need to get some work done – and burn off some of Thanksgiving’s extra calories.
