In case you have been wondering why there haven’t been any posts lately, I thought I would pop in to say all’s well on the Cutoff. We’ve just been busy with a few visitors.
We have been busy crawling around, building things, grabbing everything in our path.
We were chasing Papa around the “three sisters’ tree”. See what the deer have done to our rustic lawn furniture? Oh well. No matter, for we are
and taking some time to smell the lilacs.
See you soon!
I’ve been thinking of you … have a wonderful time!

Oh this is wonderful, Penny! My goodness Ezra has grown! What a sweet little guy! And Kezzie is just precious, too. I love those soft blond curls! I always tease the girls that of course I’m excited that they’re growing up, but could they just slow it down a little bit? They laugh. Our girls call Jay “Papa,” too. And I love that photo of Kezzie chasing Papa around the tree–and the deer’s playthings! Enjoy every moment…I’m glad you let us know how much fun you are having. I hope it lasts a little while longer, my friend. You must really look forward to these visit. 🙂 ox

Thank you, Debra. Time does go by fast, doesn’t it, and it seems to go faster and faster the older I get and the more I try to slow things down. They left right after church this morning and I miss them so much already, but, am lucky for all the fun moments.

I know you must miss them terribly. I get a little blue for even when the local family comes and then abruptly goes. It’s all the nice activity and happy noise, and then with no transition it just shuts down. It takes me a while to readjust. I’m sure your daughter has a hard time going home, too. Start planning the “next time.” oxo

How right you are, Debra; the transition hurts a bit. I needed to jump right into a frenzy of preparations for a meeting this morning, which helped, but awoke this morning listening for the sounds of a full house that aren’t here. Yep! Planning for the “next time”. A certain young miss got wind of plans to turn the room at the bottom of the stairs into a playroom. She has an uncanny memory for a three year old and will hold our feet to the flames to have it done next visit. Joy supreme!
Thank you, Debra, for your encouraging words here. I needed to hear them.

I’m so glad that you popped in to share your adorable visitors. They are precious and every photo is a work of art. I love Tom scooting around the tree just in time to hide but not too far ahead. Just continue to enjoy while they are visiting. Building memories enough to keep you until next time.

I’m so grateful to have the photos, Janet, and even more so to have the memories. Tom is a good grandpa. Kezzie is always running, running, running. He’s better at keeping up than me. Missing them already . . .

There’s absolutely no better way to spend your time than that, Penny. 🙂 They are so sweet and stay small for so short a time. It seems no time at all since my grandsons were that age and now the eldest ( at just 14) is inches taller than me and starting to shave! Enjoy every precious minute.

What a joy to be with these darlings and to welcome them into your own patch. I can almost hear the squeals of delight from here, especially as Kezzie chases Papa around the tree.
Your post evokes perfectly the total absorption that comes from being drawn into the worlds of these little ones. It’s all go, I can see (and probably you are exhausted at the end of the day)— but so happy-making too.

I am “contentedly exhausted”, Juliet. These two little ones make my heart sing. Who can ask for more than that? Aren’t those childhood squeals a delight? Kezzie was having so much fun running around.

Awwwwwww……they are getting so big, and cuter every day. You have to be in your glory with those darlings there. I can’t believe how big Kezzie is getting, long legs. I see lots of fun going on at YaYa’s house….thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Sharon. We had so much fun. Ezra crawled while he was here and Kezzie is quite the little talker. We had some interesting conversations – and, my friend, she was quite excited to find her toothbrush set from you.
