I am NOT going to fret about the six new inches of snow that fell early yesterday morning.
No, I will dwell, instead, on its sparkling beauty as it glistened in the March sun,
and I will revel in the little patch of hope I found before the snow and wind and cold came tapping on our windows.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Karen. What a wonderful artist Karen Mathison Schmidt is – and oh, that bouquet of daffodils! Fabulous. Of course, I spent some time viewing the artwork, and than fell in love with the diner painting, which led me to Amy Metz’s website, and . . . thanks.

You’re welcome. Isn’t it a shame though how one thing leads to another . . . and another . . . and…. It makes it SO darned hard to get things done!! (By the way, I thought my first comment didn’t post; hence, the repeat.) I bookmarked Ms. Schmidt’s site, in order to go back and look around later.
Don’t say it too loudly, jinxes you know, but I think there are faint signs of Spring here, too! 🙂

Haha! I’m easily distracted, Karen, and Amy Metz’s website lured me in. I just bookmarked the one, knowing I could get to the other through it, which all leads to the fact that I have too many bookmarks.
Yes, she said in a whisper, there are faint signs of spring. Just having daylight longer is a gift in itself. Hope you are having a good weekend.

Awww, just think about that poor little sprout shivering in the snow and cold! 🙂

Cold it is, Janet, though this afternoon big snow clumps were dropping from the trees, hitting the roof, sounding like someone was throwing rocks on the roof. Ah, well; I know that little sprout is under there and will soon arise and bloom.

Hope springs eternal! I love your positive outlook. Those little sprouts WILL come through one of these days. We will just have to wait.

Thank you. Of course you didn’t hear me grumbling when I tried to get the shopping cart through the ice and snow at the grocer’s. My positivity was nowhere to be found. The daffodils are pretty hearty, even under the snow, but, wait we will. It’s hard to patient sometimes, isn’t it?
You have really had a trying winter as well.

Beautiful photos but gosh! that much snow still even in March…

It is not unusual to get snow in March here, but, it just seems so unfair after the winter we have had. Sigh. It matters not, Cath, for I know those blooms are just waiting for the moment to burst forth.
Thank you.

It is so nice to see them poking through the snow. I will tramp around my neck of the woods this weekend to see what is peeking up out of the ground.

It was an affirmation that spring would soon be coming, Janet – and that little tip of yellow was nice to see after such a long, long spell of grey. I hope you find something peeking through in your neck of the woods.

Yup, I can see that Spring will get there eventually Pretty soon I’ll be writing to tell you how jealous I am of your spring flowers.

Shared jealousy across the miles – love it, Sallie. Today was in the low 50’s and everyone was out and about. We can still get more snow, but, know we have turned a corner. Been a bit busy lately, but, will drop on by to see what you’ve been up to soon.

It was warmer today, and sunny. I’ll trudge out in what is now mud and have a look-see tomorrow, Marilyn. We’ve turned a corner, though know we can still have more snow. Worry about that when it happens. Thank you. Hope you have a pleasant one as well.

The winter that will not go away! This next week we welcome the first day of spring. So doesn’t that mean there won’t be any more snow? That’s my attempt at being hopeful for you, Penny! LOL! I love the photos, and the snow is gorgeous. But I do hear that enough is enough. 🙂

Ha! If only the weather touched bases with the calendar, Debra. March is always finicky in the midwest, but, I think we all felt somewhat downtrodden by the length of constant snow and cold. I appreciate you hopefulness, and some is coming your way to a reasonable amount of rain this year.

Dear Penny, what a brave post this is! I really feel for you, having another cold snap in the middle of March. Here we’ve just been visited by a tropical cyclone – wild and stormy, but at least the air it brings is warm.

Aw, thank you, Juliet. It isn’t all that unusual to have cold and snow in March, just that we h hadn’t had a thaw all season. Such a sustained winter. Hope all is well with you after that cyclone. Enjoy the still warm air, and your harvest coming in.

Penny, to us, who have had no snow at all this winter (only grey rain) these look very, very beautiful. Spring is on its way. May it come to you soon x

In spite of our long, snowy, cold winter, the snow has been truly beautiful, Kate. We had one of those very wet, heavy snows last week; a regular Pooh Bear bother, but, it was so majestic. Hope your skies are blue soon.
