Something white caught my eye. There they were, a generous mass of springtime, clustered on the ground as we were leaving Brookfield Zoo on Wednesday; snowdrops – and not the cold, wet, flakey kind!
The trees are starting to bud. The grass is greening. My daffodils are inching forward and many are showing plump, yellow tips. Best of all, there is a full chorus of spring peepers down the road in the little pond.
A walk in the Little Red Schoolhouse Woods had this little miss swinging her coat like a kite and her shadow skipping along the path,
and this young lad hugged his Papa for a long, long while and then he explored the nature center.
Today we will color Easter eggs and perhaps watch trains go by, as our Ezra really loves trains, and we will have some quiet moments as we reflect upon the gift of Easter.
Peace and blessings to each of you.
Dear Penny, I was hoping for an update so thank you. I will be thinking of you and your family this weekend as you celebrate the joy of this day. You were thoughtful as always to remember your friends.

I am, indeed, Dawn. Those wonderful, sunny days were welcome, weren’t they? Sigh. Today was cold, so, our walks and excisions were all-the-more fun
We are only a few miles now from the Little Red Schoolhouse Woods and enjoy all it has to offer. I remember going to the red schoolhouse as a child and it has changed with good paths and bird sightings and such. The new nature center is exciting for youngsters, and we oldsters as well.
A happy Easter to you as well.

We had the gamut; snow and then 70 degrees F, which had us all outdoors taking walks and visiting the zoo. 🙂 Thank you, Perpetua. I wish the same joy and blessings to you.

These little ones are certainly your Easter blessings, and your every single day blessings! I love the spirit in the coat picture. When do we lose that? And I love the tenderness in the hugging picture. Wonderful children.

Indeed, they are my blessings, Nan. Kezzie was having so much fun with the wind and her coat. I’m not sure when we lose it, though for a few minutes I felt her glee over just being a kid. Thank you. Happy Easter – and enjoy your own little grands.

Oh I wish we could share our little backyard train with Ezra! So many little boys really do love trains–I’m married to one of them. LOL! And I hope that you had a lovely Easter, Penny. The times with the children have been enjoyable for me to watch and to know how much joy they have brought to you and Tom. ox

Me, too, Debra. He would love it, I’m sure. In fact, he would want to stay for a very long time. He really loves trains. One of my favorite spots for coffee is next to a Railroad Club and across from tracks where a lot of freight trains travel over. They, and others, often appear with their tripods and cameras to take photos of “special” editions. 🙂 Boys and their toys start early in life. Thanks, Debra. Hope you had a nice Easter.

Snowdrops: how fresh and hopeful they always are, as is young life skipping along the pathway with such freedom, or watching the magic of trains going by.

Hopeful. Yes, they are, Juliet; a perfect word for snowdrops. These are special years of magic, aren’t they, for our young ones?

Your Easter week sounds so wonderful, I’m glad you had that time together! Kezzie walking down that path looked like she was in a Winnie the Pooh book! The next time they’re in town and the weather is nice you might enjoy taking them to Kline Creek Farm to see the farm implements and the farm animals.

Oh, she does, doesn’t she. I hadn’t thought of that. I was just clicking away and then when downloaded the photos this one was so full of childhood whimsy. 🙂 She had such fun with her coat and the wind.
Thanks. I hadn’t thought of Kline Creek Farm. That will be a fun destination sometime.
