I’m out and about today, restocking the pantry, washing clothes after a week away, garden club activities leading up to the July 12 garden walk, weeding the garden here on the Cutoff, and on and on we go.
I want to show you the masses of bee balm – with bees on them – that opened whilst we were up North and give you a measure of our success with how tall the grasses and compass plant have stretched since we’ve been away. The weeds. Ah, the weeds. They are abundant this year. It is what it is and I’ll be like Scarlett and worry about them tomorrow. For now, I hope you don’t mind my sharing a few photos of the grands, who charmed and challenged us this past week, and are growing even faster than the weeds in our yard.
Joy supreme.
No love showing here, nope, none at all!! 🙂
The weeds will wait; the young’uns will not! Glad you had a great time.

How right you are. We just saw them a few weeks ago and I swear they both grew several inches and learning all sorts of new things. Miss them already.

To your last post I just said that I was sure the expression on your face when you first see these darlings is “joy,” and here you say it–Joy supreme! I love to see photos of the children, Penny, and you could never post too many. I think all of us who care about you can so easily understand how hard it can be to wait until the “next” visit, and when it comes, you must get absolutely giddy. And they, too, surely can’t wait for their grandparents to arrive. i love the photos. And they are growing up so quickly. Truly wonderful times. I’m so glad you had a wonderful time…of course you would! 🙂

You read my mind, Debra. 🙂
I do get “giddy. I often remind myself that they are closer than some of my friends’ have to go to see family – and the kids always seem to remember us, for as little as they are.

I’m so glad you had a wonderful time with the grandchildren. They bring so much joy. I miss my two grand nephews and one grand niece in Germany. Now that my mom is gone , I haven’t see them at all.

I’m so sorry that you don’t get to see your grand nephews and niece, Gerlinde. Family dynamics often change when the elders pass on. I’m sure you miss you mom and, in turn, other family. It was a joyful time, indeed, to be with the grandchildren. I’m savoring the memories. Take care.

Penny, you must be so delighted to have this precious time with the young ones. What charming photos. I love the one of the two heads together as they sit at the table. Now what makes me think that they love ice-cream?

It was a wonderful treat for us, Juliet (though I will admit to being tuckered out 🙂 ) They look conspiratorial, don’t they ? and all over an ant. Ah yes – ice cream. They were so cute with their cones. Fun times.

Thank you, Dawn. Ice cream. A pool of water. It doesn’t take much to make children happy. I won’t show the 200 other photos. hehe

I’m sure that will happen in the bat-of-an-eye, Marilyn – and they’ll be driving us around. Sure do hope they give me ice cream. 🙂 It is always good to be home – and nice of you to say so. Hope all is well with you.

What a nice thing to say, Janet. It was a special time and I think both Tom and I are hanging on to both the big memories and the small ones. We take these moments when we can and we hold them tight. 🙂
I did pick up some tea cups at Goodwill and left them for the next time. The first time the teakettle sang, Ezra was a bit scared. The second time, he came running in from another room, shoving his big sis aside, shouting “want to see the fire come out” – the fire being the steam. 🙂 Love it!

I’ve loved following the progress of these two. K looks a lot like Jennifer to me. 🙂 Nothing wrong with letting the deer eat the weeds while you visit with those two.

Interesting that you noticed the resemblance, Andra. We’ve thought the same, Kez is built similarly and often moves or does an action in a way that Jennifer did as a child and I catch my breath for a moment.
Ha! If only they would eat the weeds. A set of twins are roaming about and another young fawn is around.
Hope you and MtM are doing well. Thinking about you.
