A mid-afternoon errand took me into La Grange, first to the post office, then Trader Joe’s, where they were holding some flowers for me to use in an arrangement for our garden club’s luncheon. Once those stops were made, I crossed over the tracks and my car just did what it often does, it veered left (when I should have been heading due south). I heard that a new florist had opened, and, well . . .
. . . this is what I found.
Bloom3 is a unique florist with unusual flowers as well as garden inspired objects,
and through this door, which looks like the original door to what must have been a safe, was another long table and chairs. Such an atmospheric space can be used for small gathering, planting workshops, and, I suppose, wherever one’s imagination might wander. I can imagine a garden club making arrangements, or a group of youngsters learning how to transplant violets, or even a small bridal shower. What a fabulous place to bloom.
Don’t you just love places like this. It looks so beautiful . By the way, I could use some help with transplanting a violet that I got years ago.

Penny. . . So nice to see your post. Kim is a dear friend. Talented, unique and organic in her designs.
Love the freshness of her shop which is unlike any other flower shop in the area!! As for the SAFE room, it is such a great place for more creativity which she will rent out for clubs , birthday parties and anything else one might want to use it for. She will also teach classes from there as well.
Just bought flowers for a tabletop event I am doing with another member for our garden club tomorrow

Hi, Mary Anne. I am so very happy to see you here today. 🙂
I might have guessed you were familiar with this extraordinary shop and its owner – and now I’m excited to see what your arrangement will be. I just sent you a “friend” request on Facebook.
Thank you for sharing all that Bloom offers. I think the La Grange Garden Club had a flower arranging class there, and I can imagine all the wondrous possibilities. What a treasure chest this shop will be for the area. Fresh and organic! Yes! Perfect descriptions.
Thanks for stopping in and have fun with your arrangement.

This is the kind of space that makes me want to whisper, Penny. The sole word that came to mind when studying your photos was “zen.”
You are fortunate to have so many choice places to browse and find inspiration. Thanks for sharing this one.

“zen” is a good word for this store. A very good word. It is across the street from a commuter train station, on a side street to a very busy street/state route, in a rather urban area, yet, walking in, one is transformed to peaceful place immediately.
I know. I AM fortunate. I have many places to go to on any given day that give me peace and keep me centered. I’ve never met a florist I didn’t like, but, this one is truly special. Wish you had one in your own La Grange.

It did feel peaceful, Dawn; peaceful, calm, welcoming – and just on the next block is Jackson Square Mall, where you can go antiquing to your heart’s delight. 🙂 The gathering place at Bloom3 would be great for a a group making cards or scrapbooking as well as floral design. 🙂 You are most welcome, Dawn. Thanks for stopping by.

How lovely, Penny! Where in LaGrange is that? What kind of flower is that hanging down?

It is a unique florist and shop, L. Marie. The flower is, I believe, an amaryllis. I just loved the way the flower swooned. 🙂
Bloom3 is in downtown LaGrange, on the south side of the Burlington RR tracks and about 1/2 block west of La Grange Road. La Grange has a very vibrant business district.

You have a nose for the places to find unique places to give the senses a special boost, Penny! I love the lighting and the atmosphere that makes me feel more like I’m in an art museum than florists. What a great find! I’m sure your car will make that veer again and again! 🙂

ANYTHING to give my senses a boost, Debra! Thank you. It has been such a long, gloomy and cold stretch here that I just had to go in. 🙂 It did give me the sensation of an art museum. It is not a typical florist, especially for this very suburban area, and I love it! My poor car. It gets blamed for many sudden stops. haha
