. . . and so, dear ones, the traveling vase once again returned to our home.
Jennifer arrived on Christmas with the latest floral arrangement to grace this simple glass bowl, which has been reigning on high in the dining room, catching candlelight and sunshine.
The sun was streaming in the windows this morning, and for a brief spell lingered on the alstroemeria and mums. I love the use of the beaded bumble-bee and am impressed with how Jennifer used foil wrapping paper to add dimension, color, and support to the stems inside the bowl.
Well done, Jennifer!

What a gorgeous arrangement!!! And I also love the traveling vase idea. I think I would prefer that to the offers of friendship bread I have received over the years. Don’t get me wrong. I love friendship bread. But once you get started with it, it’s hard to get out of it.

I know what you mean about friendship bread. It is a good thing, but, a better thing for a big household. 🙂
One of the fun and accommodating parts of our traveling vase is that it can be filled at any time, any holiday – or just because. I’m enjoying the different arrangements it is holding.

Such a pretty bouquet of ‘sunshine!’ I adore your sisterhood of the traveling vase, Penny! Can’t wait to see how you will fill the vase next. 🙂 I have {secretly} chosen a friend to begin sharing this tradition with in the spring. It will be such fun to share the beauty of our gardens with one another from time to time! Thank you so much for the wonderful inspiration, Penny! Wishing you a wonderful start to the New Year! ♡

I remember reading about the traveling vase and you certainly received a winner this time — yellow flowers are always favorites of mine — little spots of sunshine and I’m sure even more appreciated on cold winter days — and the foil is a perfect touch.

Yellow flowers are always so cheerful. Yes – “little spots of sunshine”. We have a had a few bright, cold mornings with rays of sunshine slipping through the windows and kissing these flowers. Truly appreciated.
Thanks, Sallie. Happy New Year.

I should have read this one first, Janet, but, now you know the story of the traveling vase. It’s been fun and the surprise of the vase being brought to each other’s house adds to the “drama” of the traveling vase.
