Happy May Day to you too, Penny! It looks like you’ve got some of our Carolina blue sky!

Thank you, Jill, and yes, we have had some wondrous blue skies.

Happy May Day, Penny. Lovely daffs. Ours didn’t take too kindly to late snow and strong winds, poor things. But they put on a brave face.

To you as well, Cath. Nice to see you namer pop up. We were below freezing the other day and 80 degrees (F) yesterday. The days are hanging on, now that they’ve opened. 🙂

How wonderful to have May greet you with such sunny little faces! I am sure you’re doing a happy dance to finally watch winter from the rear view window! Daffodils in all of their frills really a special spring flower. Happy May Day and Happy Spring, Penny! Finally. 🙂

It is, it is, Debra. Finally, some spring.
How did you know I was doing a happy dance? 🙂 Passers-by must shake their heads and say “she is the daffy one”. 🙂
Thank you, my friend, and Happy May to you.

One of the advantages to getting older is we can do our happy dance and care a little less who thinks we’re daffy. LOL! ox

It is, indeed, a joy Juliet. Their displays are so short-lived here that we relish their beauty with great fervor (or at least I do 🙂 )

They are, indeed, happy flowers. So glad to know that that you have them near you as well. They held up rather well after last night’s deluge.

A wonderful way to welcome May! And wonderful to see your beautiful pictures — especially for one who is daffodil-deprived! Big smiles and Happy memories, both flowers and poem. ( Does anyone today still memorize poems?)

Thank you, Sallie We seem to have skipped April hereabouts and are having April and May together. 🙂
That is a good question. I think there is value in memorization and actually do not know if it is still part of one’s education.

I went to the arboretum this morning, and the daffodils are stunning! I was hiking with friends on the east side but had to drive the short loop on the west side before going home. I think it’s bluebells that are also blooming and the combination is really striking.

I’m hoping to do a drive-by this morning on my way to church, Sue, if only to do a look-see on the west side. A friend mentioned going yesterday and that the line-up of cars led from the gates all the way back to the off-ramp of I88. I think we are all so thirsty for spring and, of course, the arboretum is just the place to catch it. 🙂

Dear Penny, thanks for the quote. Is that Wordsworth?????? And for the photographs, which really do display a “crowd, a host, of golden daffodils.” Peace.

Such lovely photos and poem. We’ve had to wait a long time for Spring too, and it keeps slipping away each time we think it has arrived!

Just as I started to reply, one of our local meteorolists confirmed that April was one of the coldest on record. 😦 I think spring has finally arrived, though this morning we are having the April showers we didn’t have then. haha I hope that Spring will finally come for you, too, Janet.
Thanks, Janet.
